Henry Havelock is Dead

havelock is dead

He has been responsible for killings of so many sepoys; the number is so large that just thinking of it sends a shiver down my spine.

At least the British are out of Lucknow forever.

    Killed by disease, not the action of the enemy.

    Yes, killed by dysentery and exhaustion. Poor food and 1/4th of the rations that the British survived on didn’t help much either.

    By some account, 2/3rd of the British losses were due to illnesses and not because of the direct action of the rebels.
